Welcome

For many years, my research has focused on evaluating alternative scenarios for achieving sustainability and development in a globalized world economy characterized by growing inequality and disturbed earth systems.  However, the present confluence of crises – the ongoing pandemic, mass human migration, climate change, unprecedented volumes of sovereign debt, and extreme polarization within and between societies – intensifies the urgency for the research community to focus on global collaboration to provide and evaluate concrete visions for human activities on this planet over the next few generations.   My own agenda is taking two new directions: first, to sharpen my focus on scenarios of strategic global significance and, second, to propose new approaches for cross-disciplinary research and for designing globally relevant, post-secondary curricula around the two poles of cultural awareness and 21^st century skills.  As I update this website in the months ahead, I will post some of my new work.
